Are you an experienced Environmental Leader looking for the next step in your career? Our client is a leading Mining Operator based in Perth, with a long history of successful operation. They are seeking a skilled Environmental Superintendent to join their team. This exciting full-time role is a site-based role on a 4/3, 4/3, 8/6 roster across their port, rail and mining operations.

As an Environmental Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental management and compliance.

• Lead and mentor a team of environmental specialists across Port and Mine Operations, contributing to the strategic direction of the business by offering insights and advice on relevant environmental legislation and permitting requirements.
• Lead the environment team and contractors to ensure their behaviours, actions, and attitudes align with the company’s core values.
• Offer continuous guidance, support, and relevant training to your team to promote their professional development and enhance their performance.
• Foster environmental awareness and provide leadership and guidance on environmental issues to site-based personnel.
• Analyse legislation, government standards, and agreements to provide informed commentary, identify improvement opportunities, and develop risk management strategies.
• Supply necessary information to facilitate the acquisition of required environmental approvals.
• Implement and manage the Environmental Management System, including coordinating and conducting environmental monitoring.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field in Environmental Management.
• Extensive, proven experience mentoring and supervising large teams within an operational mining environment with a strong commitment to team development.
• Deep understanding of operational functions within the mining industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Western Australian environmental legislation and framework, particularly the EP Act, EPBC Act, and Mining Act.
• Significant experience conducting environmental audits, inspections, and investigations, with formal qualifications in auditing and investigation, coupled with advanced report writing skills.
