As we aim to expand our services into the defence and health sectors, we're seeking a skilled Intermediate Estimator to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview: As an Intermediate Estimator, you'll play a vital role in our continued success and growth. Working closely with a small team of estimators in our office, you'll be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to immerse yourself in our business and culture before taking on project responsibilities.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimations.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
• Utilize industry-standard software and tools to perform quantity take-offs and cost calculations.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and timelines.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, materials costs, and labour rates to maintain accuracy in estimations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on school and commercial builds.
• Prior experience in the defence and health sectors would be highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
