Are you an experienced Aged Care Head Chef looking for an opportunity to truly make a difference in the industry? Our client is an elegant and sophisticated aged care home, seeking a Head Chef dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents through exceptional food and day-to-day kitchen management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading a Team: Supervise and manage the kitchen team, including the Second Chef, Kitchen Staff, and Catering Assistants.
• Menu Creation and Planning: Develop and plan nutritious, appealing menus that cater to the diverse dietary needs of elderly residents.
• Budget, Stock Control & Ordering: Oversee the kitchen budget, manage stock levels, and handle ordering supplies efficiently.
• Mentoring and Training Staff: Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and service.
• Meal Preparation: Prepare meals, including accommodating special dietary needs such as texture-modified diets.
• Adherence to Food Safety and Hygiene: Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Quality Control & Adherence to Aged Care Quality Standards: Maintain high-quality food standards and play a key role in preparing for accreditation.
• Resident and Family Feedback: Act on feedback from residents and their families to continuously improve meal offerings.

Requirements:

• Passion for Improving Lives: Demonstrate empathy and a people-oriented approach.
• Previous Aged Care Experience: Proven experience in a similar role within the aged care sector.
• Knowledge of Elderly Dietary Needs: In-depth understanding of dietary requirements for elderly individuals.
• Familiarity with Food Safety Standards: Knowledgeable about food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent Communicator: Strong communication skills to effectively lead a team and interact with residents and their families.
• Leadership Abilities: Capable of leading and motivating a team to deliver exceptional service.
• Up-to-Date Immunization: Must have current immunizations.
• Police Check: Willingness to undergo a police check.
