Your New Opportunity
Due to internal mobility we are seeking to appoint an Executive Manager to our Cairns-based Regional Commercial Banking portfolio.
You'll lead a diverse and commercially significant client base across Far North Queensland. Your portfolio will span health, property and construction, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, and logistics, supporting locally owned and regionally headquartered businesses at scale.
This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape strategy, build deep client partnerships and drive sustainable growth across one of Australia's most dynamic regional markets. You'll combine strong commercial judgement with deep regional insight-leading from the front while supporting clients through growth, transition and complexity.
The Region
Cairns and Far North Queensland represent a highly diversified regional economy underpinned by tourism, infrastructure investment, health services, property development, manufacturing, logistics and supply chains. With strong connections to domestic and international markets, the region requires sophisticated, relationship-led commercial banking solutions tailored to local conditions.
Our established presence in Cairns positions us as a trusted partner to regional business leaders and communities, supporting investment, employment and long-term economic resilience across the region.
The Team
This Executive Manager role provides the opportunity to lead and shape a high-performing team of Regional Commercial Relationship Executives servicing a broad and diversified commercial client portfolio. You'll oversee them supporting established and emerging businesses across key industries.
You'll be accountable for building capability, strengthening market presence, and fostering a culture of performance, customer advocacy and disciplined risk management. This is a visible leadership role with meaningful scope and influence across Far North Queensland.
What You'll Do
Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Regional Commercial Banking team across Cairns and Far North Queensland
Drive strong customer outcomes by delivering tailored, end-to-end commercial banking solutions across diversified regional industries
Identify and execute growth opportunities through deep market insight, strategic thinking and commercial acumen
Build leadership capability and succession through coaching, mentoring and performance leadership
Represent CommBank as a trusted regional partner, strengthening relationships with clients, industry stakeholders and the broader business community
Navigate complexity with confidence, structuring and negotiating sophisticated commercial solutions within a strong risk framework
What You'll Bring
Proven senior leadership experience within commercial or business banking
A strong track record of building and leading high-performing, relationship-led teams
Sound credit and risk expertise supported by strong commercial judgement
Exceptional relationship-building capability with a customer-first mindset
Demonstrated success driving growth across diversified commercial client portfolios
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or Commerce (preferred)
Highly developed communication and stakeholder-engagement skills
