The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Expeditor.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Coordination: Collaborate with the procurement team to identify project requirements, review purchase orders, and verify specifications. Ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are ordered, tracked, and delivered on time.
Vendor Management: Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors. Coordinate with vendors to expedite deliveries, resolve any issues or discrepancies, and ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders and delivery schedules. Generate regular reports on procurement status, delivery performance, and potential risks or delays. Provide updates to the project management team and stakeholders as necessary.
Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that all delivered materials and equipment meet project specifications and quality standards. Conduct inspections or arrange for third-party inspections when required.
Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve any issues, delays, or conflicts related to the procurement and delivery process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and construction personnel, to find timely and effective solutions.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, project policies, and industry standards. Ensure that all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, logistics, engineering, or business administration. Relevant certifications or professional qualifications are a plus.
Previous experience in procurement, expediting, or logistics, preferably within the railway or infrastructure sector.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and logistics operations.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors, stakeholders, and project teams.
Attention to detail and a focus on quality control and compliance.
Proficiency in using procurement software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of railway infrastructure and construction processes is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
