About the role  

Reporting to the National Airports Manger this position is responsible for the maintenance of the company’s physical infrastructure at National Jet Express and REX’s Adelaide bases and coordinating FM services delivery to ensure customer / tenant satisfaction.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Single point of contact for planning and implementation of cost-effective delivery of FM Services, in particular: regulatory compliance, building and facility maintenance, housekeeping, grounds keeping, cleaning, security, waste management, car parking, utilities management, and signage.
  • Building operations liaison between tenant and internal/external FM service providers. 
  • Management of facilities planning capital works projects and refurbishment projects.
  • Foster and maintain a close relationship with key staff within National Jet Express and REX. Maintain an effective customer service feedback system and drive customer satisfaction as a key goal of FM.
  • Maintain and effective contractor audit system for safety and performance delivery.
  • Interaction and negotiation with service providers, Airport authority and internal clients. 
  • Developing policies and procedures in order to improve performance.
  • Undertake an active role of fire warden and have a sound knowledge of evacuation procedures.
  • Hold Safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a Zero Harm and an incident / injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position.
  • Promote safe work practices for direct reports and contractors.
  • Lead Safety observation tours and risk assessments for FM scope.
     

Reporting Relationships

The position reports directly to the: National Airports Manager
 

Educational/Vocational Qualifications (Essential and Desirable)

Essential

  • Suitable trades qualifications – property, construction, engineering.

Desirable

  • Formal qualifications in facilities management or contract management.
  • Formal qualifications in building and facility regulatory compliance management.

 

Experience (Essential and Desirable)

  1. Essential
  • At least 5 years of facilities management experience in a large scale commercial or industrial environment.
  • Experience in development, management and continuous improvement of contract services.
  • Experience in the control of facility projects.
  1. Desirable
  • Aviation experience.

 

Knowledge (Essential and Desirable)

Essential

  • Knowledge and understanding of complex building systems and infrastructure in a commercial or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated professional technical interest and expertise in building/infrastructure management and systems.

Desirable

  • Application of quality management system and standards.

 

Personal Skills/Abilities (Essential and Desirable)

  • Attention to detail.
  • Organised with the ability to manage projects within budget and across multiple suppliers and contractors.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently & within a team environment.
  • Willingness to interact cross functionally and ability to effectively communicate and build effective relationships with all levels of the organisation.
