Field Technician - Resource Recovery - Continuous Learning Opportunities

EGL Waste are EGL’s division specialised in resource recovery solutions. These system play their part helping Australia achieve the goal of zero waste to landfill. With out ability to pull resources across the group, we offer a one stop shop solution for waste and recycling clients across Australia.  

About the Role

We are looking to expand our Waste services in Brisbane with a motivated individual proficient in both mechanical skills and office administration work.  

This job would be ideal for someone with an automotive mechanical/mechanical fitter background with customer facing experience. Foreman/workshop controller/diagnostic technicians or technicians with site experience and relevant tickets highly regarded. 

The role is diverse and may include:

• Supervision of the installation of new equipment or retrofit of existing plant.
• Mechanical diagnosis, repair and tuning on a range of mobile and fixed plant equipment from crushers, conveyors and air separators.
• Site inspections for job quotes or reports either for EGL Waste Services or one of our sister companies.   
• Supervision or leading a small teams on site (if additional staff or contractors are required for the job)

The role reports directly to the General Manager. 

About You

• Current drivers’ licence required along with reliable transport. Travel expenses to sites reimbursed.
• Cert III in either Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Engineering – Mechanical trade or other similar mechanical trade certification.
• Ability to work both remotely or onsite, unsupervised or in a team. 
• Strong and safe work ethic. 
• Excellent attention to detail. 
• Ability to organise contractors and staff as required. 
• At least 5 years experience post trade. 
• Ability to travel for work, including interstate and be available for overtime if required. 
• Ability to adapt to individual jobs based on customer requirements. 
• Proficiency in Word and Excel. 
• Willingness to learn. 
• Great communication skills and ability to understand customer requests. 

Beneficial (but not mandatory)

• White card. 
• Hydraulic and or ELV Electrical experience. 
• Construction experience. 
• Any tickets in the construction industry (IE Forklift, Dogging, EWP, Working at heights). 
• MYOB experience.
