We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional with strong analytical capability with stakeholder management skills.


 


This role is advertised on a part-time basis, offering flexibility for the right candidate; however, we are also open to considering full-time applicants whose skills and experience align with our needs.


 


 You'll work across the business to provide meaningful financial insights, drive performance improvements, challenge assumptions and support better decision-making.


 


Your opportunity



As a Finance Business Analyst, you'll work closely with the CFO, senior leaders, and the broader finance team to deliver reporting, analysis, forecasting and commercial support.


As part of a small, dynamic team, you will be comfortable wearing multiple hats rolling up your sleeves and assisting across a broad range of finance activities where required.



Based in Brisbane, you will:



  • Lead and coordinate the outsourced transactional finance team

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to provide financial insights that support commercial and operational decisions

  • Lead monthly performance reviews, translating results into key drivers, risks, opportunities and actions

  • Deliver variance analysis, profitability reporting and clear recommendations to improve business performance

  • Perform revenue and expense reconciliations across projects, customers, suppliers and business units

  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and ensure issues are resolved promptly

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes and work with the CFO and senior leaders to assess assumptions, risks and outlooks

  • Develop scenario models and analyse performance against budget, forecast and prior-year results

  • Support monthly Board reporting, including financial results, forecasts, KPIs and variance commentary

  • Assist with ASX compliance, market disclosures, governance documentation and other corporate reporting activities as required

  • Improve reporting processes through automation, Power BI, SQL, AI and other analytical tools

Must-haves


 



  • Current CA or CPA membership, with at least 2 years post-qualification experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions through financial insights

  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and business modelling capability

  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions through financial insight

  • Experience developing and maintaining dashboards and performance reporting

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment

  • A collaborative, adaptable and hands-on approach


 


Nice-to-haves


 



  • Experience in professional-services or project-based revenue models

  • Familiarity with Xero

  • Experience supporting multiple business units or regions

  • Advanced modelling, data visualisation or business intelligence skills

  • Experience overseeing or coordinating an outsourced transactional finance function
