Job Description - Finance Capability Specialist


At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training. 


 



  • Ongoing Full time

  • Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available

  • Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 with salary ranging from $149,739 to $173,174 + super and annual leave loading

About the role


 


Are you passionate about learning design, capability development and driving meaningful organisational change? This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of innovative finance capability strategies that empower school leaders and staff across NSW.


 


As the Finance Capability Strategy Specialist, you will provide expert advice and leadership in the design, development and delivery of finance capability uplift strategies and training programs. You will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders to identify capability needs and develop contemporary learning solutions that strengthen financial management practices across schools.

About you


 


We are seeking a strategic and collaborative professional with experience in capability development, learning design and stakeholder engagement.


 


You will have: 



  • Experience designing and delivering capability uplift strategies and learning programs.

  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.

  • The ability to identify capability needs and develop targeted, innovative learning solutions.

  • Experience evaluating learning outcomes and driving continuous improvement.

  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.


 


Candidates must have Australian work rights (citizens, permanent residents, New Zealand citizens or a valid work visa). Ongoing (permanent) roles are open to Australian citizens and permanent residents and New Zealand citizens, while temporary roles welcome applicants with a visa.
