Job Description - Finance Manager

Finance Manager - Contract
Sydney CBD (52 Martin Place) | Hybrid (2-3 days in office)
ASAP Start | Contract through to 31 December 2026
$850 + Super per day

A NSW Government department is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager on a long-term contract through to 31 December 2026. This role sits within a well-established, high-performing finance team.

Based in Sydney CBD with hybrid flexibility (2-3 days in office), this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, statutory compliance, and oversight of core finance operations within a structured public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead month-end and year-end financial reporting processes
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial integrity
Deliver detailed variance and expense analysis to support internal reporting requirements
Manage preparation and review of BAS, FBT and Payroll Tax obligations
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
Liaise with external auditors and key stakeholders
Partner with internal business units to provide financial insight and advice
Ensure compliance with government financial management frameworks and controls
