As Finance Manager, you will own the end-to-end finance function for the Adelaide studio and act as a trusted business partner to directors, project leaders, and national finance.This is a hands-on finance role and ideal for someone who enjoys balancing detailed transactional work with strategic oversight.
Your new role Your key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing project administration, ensuring accuracy across financial records, profitability reporting and budgeting
Managing and processing accounts receivable, accounts payable and all billing activities Preparing and reviewing payroll for the local studio Handling general accounting functions, including full month-end and year-end processes Providing financial insights, modelling and recommendations to support strategic decision-making Maintaining accurate forecasting, revenue recognition and detailed cost analysis across multiple active projects Preparing monthly reporting packs for the national finance team and studio directors Managing journals, accruals, reconciliations and full P&L preparation and commentary Overseeing budget management across multiple cost categories Driving process improvements and contributing to national finance initiativesThis is a hands-on leadership role, combining operational ownership with strategic influence - perfect for someone who thrives on variety, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
What you'll need to succeed You'll be an experienced finance leader with:
- A degree in Accounting or similar (CPA/CA highly regarded)
- 10+ years' experience in accounting/finance with leadership exposure
- Strong technical capability across financial and management accounting
- Experience with project financial administration
- Proficiency in accounting systems, Excel, and modern finance tools
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain finance to non-finance stakeholders
- A collaborative, inclusive working style
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and business acumen
- A passion for continuous improvement and high-performing teams
