Finance Officer (AP/AR)

Mascot, Sydney | Hybrid (2 days WFH) | $70,000 - $75,000 + Super

A growing and well-established organisation with international operations is seeking a Finance Officer (AP/AR) to join its collaborative finance team in Mascot.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1-5 years of accounting experience who enjoys working across accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations and month-end support in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Reporting to a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function while gaining exposure to a broad range of accounting activities and contributing to process improvements.

The Role

In this hands-on role, you will support the finance team with a variety of accounting responsibilities, including:

• End-to-end Accounts Payable processing, including PO matching, invoice entry, payment runs and clearing payments
• Managing the AP inbox and liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding invoice queries
• Preparing and reconciling AP ageing reports
• Processing staff expense reimbursements and supplier payments within set deadlines
• Assisting with credit card and major vendor reconciliations
• Supporting Accounts Receivable queries where required
• Assisting with month-end tasks and reconciliations
• Supporting preparation of GST, FBT and other statutory reporting
• Performing ad-hoc finance and reporting tasks as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• 1-5 years' experience in an Accounts Officer, Accounts Payable, or similar finance role
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Experience with accounting systems such as SAP or similar ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills when working with internal and external stakeholders
• A positive, proactive attitude and strong team mentality

Applicants with Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship are preferred.
