Finance Officer

POSITION SUMMARY

Pier One Sydney Harbour is looking for an organised, detail-focused and proactive Finance Officer to join our Finance team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Officer will support the hotel’s day-to-day financial operations and help maintain accurate, timely and compliant financial records.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong numerical and administrative skills who wants to develop their finance career within a dynamic hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable invoices accurately and within required timeframes.


• Reconcile supplier statements and respond to supplier enquiries.


• Assist with accounts receivable, invoicing and debt collection.


• Complete daily revenue, banking and credit card reconciliations.


• Support daily income audit processes and investigate discrepancies.


• Assist with general ledger reconciliations and month-end reporting.


• Maintain accurate financial records, filing systems and supporting documentation.


• Support payroll administration and respond to payroll-related enquiries when required.


• Assist with purchasing, cost control and inventory processes.


• Work closely with hotel departments to resolve financial and billing queries.


• Support internal and external audit requirements.


• Follow Marriott International policies, financial controls and compliance requirements.


• Provide general administrative support to the Finance team.

About You

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts or administration role.


• Hotel, hospitality or similar operational experience is highly regarded.


• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.


• Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other financial systems.


• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable or financial reconciliations is desirable.


• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.


• A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider hotel team.


• Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance or business are desirable but not essential.
