Finance Officer NSW Government

The Company
This state government department plays a crucial role in the development of NSW. They are currently seeking an experienced Finance Officer to coordinate the daily operations and support transactional finance tasks in an exciting contract until May 2025. 


The Job
Reporting into the Manager in this Finance Officer role, you will be responsible for:

• Providing financial support services across the wider division
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Processing payments and period end processes
• Preparing and processing daily accruals and journals
• Preparing and reviewing general ledger reconciliations
• Managing month-end activities and reporting
• Assisting in preparing accurate and detailed budgets, accounts, procurements, reports and financial documents
• Financial data entry and system maintenance 

You
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following:

• Proven experience working within a Finance Officer capacity for at least 2 years
• Previous SAP ERP experience will be beneficial
• Government and/or large infrastructure/facilities sector experience will be highly favoured 
• Intermediate level Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
