Your new company An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established, value-driven organisation based in Perth. This role is ideal for a Big4 (or mid-tier) trained auditor looking to make their first move into industry, or someone with a strong audit foundation who has begun to build commercial experience. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, while gaining hands-on exposure to core commercial finance activities. Your new role In this role, you will work closely with senior finance leaders and a broad group of internal stakeholders, supporting month-end reporting and ensuring high-quality financial information is available to support decision-making. This is a role that offers excellent learning, development and progression for someone early in their commercial career. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
Daily bank reconciliations and general ledger analysis
Assisting with statutory financial statements and external audits
Fixed asset accounting, reporting and reconciliations
Support with BAS and FBT preparation
Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required
Contributing to process improvement initiatives and documentation
What you'll need to succeed You will be CA or CPA qualified (or near completion) and bring a strong technical grounding from your training. You'll also bring a positive, collaborative approach and a desire to build a long-term career in commerce. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Background in Big4 or mid-tier audit, or audit plus some commercial experience
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles
Exposure to month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
Confidence communicating with non-finance stakeholders
Advanced Excel skills (experience with BI tools or ERP systems is advantageous but not essential)
