Financial Accountant

Our client provides industry-leading fibre optic products and services across the globe. Founded in 1984 with a single fibre optic cable, they now manufacture over two thousand products, employ over 5,000 associates, and consistently generate annual sales of over a billion dollars in revenue.  Employing over 140 staff in Oceana, they have offices in each major capital city and operate two optical fibre manufacturing facilities.

Reporting to a supportive and collaborative manager, you will work with a well-versed and results-focused finance department. 

About the role:

• Monthly account reconciliation, cash flow BAS and fixed assets management 
• Assist with the preparation of the yearly insurance renewal policies
• Review of FBT and GST processes during the year and implement required changes
• Train staff on the latest legislation whilst conducting spot checks and audits to ensure compliance
• Yearly FBT returns
• Intercompany invoicing and reconciliation
• Liaise with internal and external auditors 
• Reconcile ATO integrated statements 
• Ad hoc reporting – using Oracle, Excel, Onestream and Power BI

The successful candidate will have: 

• CPA or CA qualifications with at least 5 years in a financial accounting role
• Advanced Excel skills, Power BI and Excel query
• Oracle 12.2 or SAP are a definite advantage 
• The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
• Strong analytical and communication skills 
• Experience in a medium-sized corporate company with intercompany experience with subsidiaries.
• Worked in a public company environment with corporate reporting experience
