Job Description - Financial Adviser

Description

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Financial Adviser, you’ll deliver tailored personal advice across a defined scope, with a strong focus on superannuation and retirement outcomes. This includes super optimisation, contributions, personal insurance strategies and, where relevant, complex Defined Benefit accounts. You’ll work closely with members to understand their goals and provide advice that is technically sound, compliant and genuinely aligned to their needs.

You’ll engage with members across multiple channels - face‑to‑face, phone and video - and collaborate with peers and leaders to continuously improve the advice experience and grow advice uptake across the fund.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Townsville

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Build trusted relationships with existing and prospective members, delivering advice in a professional, member centric way.
  • Provide high quality personal advice on superannuation, investments, insurance, retirement, tax and estate planning (within scope).
  • Prepare Statements of Advice that are technically correct, compliant and appropriate to member objectives.
  • Ensure all advice complies with relevant legislation, ASIC guidelines and ART’s Advice Delivery model.
  • Convert qualified leads into personal advice engagements and identify add on services where appropriate.
  • Identify and develop referral opportunities to support business targets.
  • Coach and mentor staff to generate qualified leads and support advice growth.
  • Participate in workplace and client seminars to drive engagement and new opportunities.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Business, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • You’re driven to achieve outstanding outcomes for members and take pride in delivering high quality advice.
  • You’ve completed the Financial Adviser Exam and meet the requirements to provide tax (financial) advice.
  • You’re listed on the ASIC Financial Advisers Register and maintain strong ethical and professional standards.
  • You bring extensive experience providing personal financial advice, ideally in a face-to-face environment.
  • You have strong technical knowledge of superannuation and retirement strategies, including complex Defined Benefit accounts.
  • You’re proficient in preparing Statements of Advice that are technically sound, compliant and tailored to individual member needs.
  • You have a strong understanding of financial services compliance, and you consistently apply it in your advice delivery.
