Financial Controller

CMI Electrical Products is a part of the IPD Group of Companies. We are a leading manufacturer and supplier of Electrical Cable and Industrial Products to the electrical industry with significant operations nationally. CMI Electrical Products distributes to Industrial, Commercial, Wholesalers, OEM and Utilities markets.

We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Controller to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the financial control and finance function for CMI.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and General Manager for Finance, this role will be based at our office in Lidcombe, NSW.

About the role

• Providing commercial support to key stakeholders for critical business decisions and managing cashflow, working capital, and forecasting.


• Leading and coaching the finance team, overseeing day-to-day operations, including general ledger maintenance and payroll management.


• Producing month-end trial balance, management accounts, variance reports, and business unit analytics to support stakeholders.


• Handling technical accounting tasks, prepare budgets, assist with tax calculations, statutory accounts, and liaise with company auditors.


• Driving process improvements, managing accounting system developments, and implementing new controls while collaborating across IPD Group operations.

About you

• Minimum 10+ years experience in a senior financial managerial position


• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role


• Bachelor’s degree in business from a recognised university


• Post graduate accounting qualification/membership


• High level of written and verbal communication skills


• Work collaboratively in team environments and with various stakeholders


• Will demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and experience in assessing strategic initiatives
