Real Estate Investment Finance (REIF) is a quickly expanding business which just keeps going from strength to strength. Over that time we have grown as a company, and are now at a point where we are ready to bring on our first Financial Controller who can set up and lead our finance function and grow with the business as we expand!

About the role: 🏡+🏦

This role is a critical placement in our business, that will no doubt change the landscape of our company. Ideally we’re looking for someone who specialises in management accounting, competent in tax, and capable of tax/asset planning. You’ll be responsible for looking after multiple entities within our group ranging from mortgage broking, real estate sales, property management and other supporting entities .These entities will require you to maintain cash flow, handle daily account tasks, set and manage budgets, and assist with operational strategy and efficiencies all with professionalism and a touch of creativity.

  • Generating timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Developing accurate financial forecasts based on historical data encompassing company targets and KPI’s, market trends, and business goals to assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Managing payroll for our PAYG team and our Property & Finance contractors (total of 34 team across both and growing!)
  • Managing inter-company expense allocation and management across our multiple entities
  • Creating and managing budgets in collaboration with department heads, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives and prudent resource allocation.
  • Collaborating with senior management to develop financial strategies aligned with business objectives, identifying opportunities for growth, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
  • Improve and/or introduce forecasting processes and procedures so that budgets and forecasts can be used as dynamic planning tools.
  • Implement processes for keeping costs to a minimum and visibility over expenditure so that managers can understand their own department figures and be held accountable for cost control.
  • Accurate and timely submission of the Business Activity Statement (BAS).
  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Evaluating insurance needs, procuring appropriate coverage, and managing insurance policies to mitigate risks and protect the company's assets.
  • Overseeing financial systems and being responsible for system implementations/upgrades where applicable
  • Translate all figures and data in away which makes sense to management and necessary department heads
  • Ensuring relevant regulatory compliance and accounting standards are met and upheld

Salary 💰

$120,000 - $130,000 + Super | Full-time position, located in our head office at Darra.

Our ideal candidate would possess a blend of financial expertise, strategic thinking, and adaptability as well as:

  • Significant industry specific accounting experience, in all or some of the following industries - finance/property/property management/development
  • Chartered Accountant with thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures would be preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems to manage and report on development projects and ownership of assets
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, in particular the Xero accounting system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and compliance when handling confidential financial information.
  • Strategic mindset with the capacity to identify opportunities for financial optimisation and take action to implement them.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to directly manage and deliver the finance function
  • Energetic and motivated personality with great ability to multitask
