Location: Parramatta (hybrid working)


Employment type: Ongoing Full Time


Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 ($116,981 - $129,492 pa), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading


 


Your role


 


Supports financial analysis, modelling and budget monitoring to inform infrastructure investment decision‑making across the portfolio. The role delivers high‑quality financial analysis, maintains forecasting models and contributes to month‑end performance monitoring to optimise funding utilisation and support effective program delivery.


 


The role contributes to the development and use of portfolio‑level planning tools to support prioritisation, forward planning and scenario‑based decision making.


 


What you’ll do


 


As part of the Investment and Financial Planning team within Infrastructure and Assets, you will be responsible for but not limited to:



  • Conduct financial analysis to support infrastructure investment planning, prioritisation and lifecycle cost assessment

  • Support month‑end processes by analysing variances, identifying emerging risks (e.g. underspends or pressures), and preparing insights for consideration

  • Assist in coordinating budget adjustments and transfers, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates to financial positions

  • Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of portfolio planning tools, including updating financial inputs (actuals, forecasts, funding availability)

  • Undertake scenario analysis to assess the impact of changes to project timing, funding allocation and prioritisation

  • Identify potential opportunities to reallocate funding (e.g. from delayed projects), escalating recommendations for consideration

  • Prepare financial models and analysis to support capital planning activities and reporting requirements

  • Contribute to preparation of the DCJ Capital Investment Plan submission to NSW Treasury

  • Support TOTEX analysis by improving visibility of whole‑of‑life costs across capital and operational expenditure.


 


What we’re looking for


 


The successful candidate will work with various professionals within the finance team to provide analysis and insights to various stakeholders within the business under tight time pressures. 


 



  • Strong data analysis and all-round financial accounting expertise

  • Attention to detail when creating financial models and reviewing month end reports

  • Ability to provide strategic analysis and opinions within a dynamic team environment

  • Strong communication skills - able to communicate effectively key messages with stakeholders, have an adaptive style and influence outcomes

  • Prioritise team efforts to support business requirements

  • Experience working with SAP, Excel, and exposure to business intelligence tools, such as SAP Analytics Cloud. (preferred, but not essential)
