The Role The Financial Strategy and Operations Lead is a key leadership position within the finance team and acts as the 2IC to the CFO. The role will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to deliver a high standard of service from the finance unit as well as developing and implementing financial strategies and operational initiatives.
The position encompasses a broad scope, including ownership and accountability for all core finance function as well as managing the organisation's financial planning and analysis. The responsibility encompasses the finance unit's service delivery to drive operational performance while ensuring strict adherence to statutory requirements and professional standards.
About You As a highly regarded finance professional, you will bring with you, extensive experience in finance related positions, with demonstrated experience in supervisory and leadership roles.
Key accountabilities will include developing and implementing financial strategies and initiatives in collaboration with the CFO and other senior leaders as well as providing strategic financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive business performance. From a leadership perspective you will provide guidance to the finance team, overseeing a broad range of activities, including but not limited to such as management accounting, finance business partnering, financial planning and analysis, financial accounting, financial reporting, external audit, financial operations and transactional services.
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices, together with knowledge and expertise in budgeting principles, methodologies, and best practices is essential. Additionally extensive experience in managing financial reporting processes, including month-end and year-end close, and preparing general purpose financial statements in accordance with AASB’s is required.
