Job Description - FIRE DETECTION TECHNICIAN - Energetic Workplace

We are in search of an energetic FIRE DETECTION TECHNICIAN to join our knowledgeable team at Dayshelf Fire Systems in Southport, Gold Coast QLD.

A leader in the fire services industry for over 40 years we provide efficient and reliable maintenance and servicing of fire equipment to our clients throughout South East Queensland and Northern NSW. We value technical and professional excellence, integrity and respect in our team.

Key Responsibilities

We require a suitably qualified Fire alarm & detection system tester with strong service focus to test and repair but not essential, Fire Detection Systems and EWIS. You will interact professionally with clients, colleagues and will represent the company with integrity.

In accordance with Australian standards your key responsibilities will be:-

  • Testing, inspection, maintenance and repair (not essential) of fire detection, alarm and warning systems Inclusive of monthly, 6 monthly and annual inspections.
  • Reporting on your activities, compliance issues and health and safety matters

The Ideal Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A valid and unrestricted Drivers Licence
  • QBCC Licence (Fire Protection Scope) or eligibility to attain
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes relevant to the fire industry
  • Proven industry experience servicing and installing fire systems (Not essential)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a range of people from varying backgrounds and stature
  • A strong service focus
  • The ability to work autonomously with a pro-active approach to managing deadlines
