About the Role

The First Nations Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of initiatives across the First Nations Strategy. Working closely with project leads and cross-functional stakeholders, the role ensures effective coordination, tracking, and reporting of projects. The role contributes to high-quality project execution by enabling structured planning, timely delivery, and transparent reporting, while supporting the broader team with business analysis and coordination activities.

This role operates across a portfolio of initiatives within the First Nations Strategy, supporting multiple projects at varying stages of delivery. It collaborates with internal stakeholders, project teams, and business units to ensure consistency in project management practices and alignment to strategic objectives.

What will your day look like?

As a First Nations Business Analyst, you are accountable for: 

• Providing governance, reporting, and administrative support to ensure delivery outcomes are met


• Assisting in business analysis activities to inform project design and decision-making


• Coordinate day-to-day project activities to support the delivery of initiatives across the First Nations Strategy


• Monitor progress against milestones and proactively escalate risks, issues, and dependencies


• Support project governance processes, including documentation, approvals, and reporting


• Track project performance, timelines, and outcomes across multiple initiatives


• Prepare regular status reports, dashboards, and updates for stakeholders and leadership


• Support the preparation of materials for governance forums and decision-making bodies


• Support the development of business cases, process maps, and insights to inform project delivery


• Work collaboratively with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication


• Facilitate meetings, workshops, and coordination activities across project teams


• Identify opportunities to improve project coordination, reporting, and delivery processes


• Contribute to the development of tools, templates, and best practices across the First Nations Strategy portfolio

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Cultural awareness and understanding of First Nations histories and cultures


• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.


• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team


• Background in one or more of the following disciplines – Project Management, Marketing or Business or related work experience.


• Very strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Powerpoint)


• Sound project and time management skills.
