The Fitter and Turner will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems by fitting and machining precision components. The role involves using various tools and machinery to fabricate and repair parts, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.

This is your role. What part will you play?

In this role, you will:

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Assemble, fit, and machine components to precise specifications.
• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and machinery.
• Primarily operating lathes to prepare Locomotive axle for wheel pressing, milling machines, and other workshop equipment.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

• Collaborate with other team members to improve production processes and efficiency.

Competencies, Experience, and Requirements:

• Experienced as Fitter and Turner
• Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner.
• Proficiency in using lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
