Fitter/Welder

BGIS is on the lookout for a skilled Fitter and Turner with welding experience to join our dynamic team. If you have a passion for maintenance, a knack for precision, and a commitment to safety, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to OHS&E policies and ensure all stakeholders maintain these standards.
- Fabricate and maintain targets, performing all types of welding, including on hardened materials.
- Assist with various maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring equipment inspections and routine checks are completed on schedule.
- Contribute to daily operations and maintain the site, ensuring timely and professional completion of work orders.
- Collaborate with facilities and site management teams to meet required outcomes.
- Provide support to other maintenance staff and oversee sub-contractors when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, codes, and BGIS business systems.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant technical qualifications in Fabrication, Welding, Boiler Making, or Plumbing Services.
- Demonstrated experience in a property or corporate real estate environment.
- Strong business acumen with financial knowledge and skills.
- Proficiency in desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge and experience with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).

Desirable Attributes:
- Working knowledge of various trades and services (e.g., Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing).
- Additional certifications such as an elevated work platform (EVP) certification or Forklift Licence.
- Welding experience preferable but not essential.
