Fleet Controller - Transport Industry

About Us

Our client is a leader in local express delivery services, 3PL warehousing, production & assembly line work.  As a result of their rapid growth they are now seeking the services of an experienced Fleet Controller. The focus of this exciting role is to maintain and manage an efficient flow of work, ensuring all bookings, customer requests and queries are handled in an efficient and timely manner.

About the role

Primary responsibilities include:

• Ensure optimum service levels are always maintained.
• Take calls from drivers and customers alike and responding to their needs.
• Complete incoming bookings from phone & email  
• Monitor driver movements via GPS and always have awareness of fleet location
• Ensure that customers are advised of delays, issues, or extra charges
• Ensure pallets are exchanged and returned and movements are recorded.
• Ensure all data and paperwork is collected and made ready for weekly invoicing
• Resolve service complaints by accurately identifying the customer or driver issue, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives promptly, and follow up to ensure satisfaction
• Assist with training new staff - when required

About you

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Understanding of network and logistics management
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a managed freight solutions/logistics environment and fleet management
• Be educated in operations/logistics or other related discipline. 
• Demonstrated history of leadership and relationship building skills 
• Have exceptional attention to detail. and advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
