Job Description - Front Office Manager - DIDO - Karratha

  • Manage the front office/reception of a large mining village (1,300 pax) in Karratha.
  • DIDO to Karratha
  • Attractive salary ($94k to $100k Salary Package) and great work life balance - NO WEEKEND WORK! Monday to Friday (10 hour days)

The Opportunity:

Front Office Manager/Accommodation Manager required large mining village in Karratha (1,300 pax). Reporting to the Village manager, the role’s primary focus is ensuring the effective management of a Front Office Department (team of 2 to 5) in line with ISS standards and contractual agreements.

This Monday to Friday role requires working from 7am to 5pm (as they are the operation hours of the front desk). This role would suit someone either living in Karratha or open to a DIDO arrangement.

The Position:

The Front Office Manager/Accommodation Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for the Front Office Department and requires an individual with excellent administrative and customer service skills and previous experience managing a small team.

The Front Office team manage the issuing of keys and security passes for vistors and guests at the mine site, resolve any issues in consultation with the heads of departments (cleaning, catering, etc). The Manager will have involvement with rostering/payroll processes.

The role will also incorporate the following duties:

  • Oversee daily operations of the accommodation facility including guest relations, front desk service, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Handle customer service issues, resolve problems, and provide hands-on support during peak times or emergencies.
  • Oversee all aspects of guest check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience for every visitor.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure guest satisfaction and adherence to industry standards and provide reports to upper management regarding these.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, such as guest satisfaction scores, occupancy rates, and revenue metrics, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop, manage, and adhere to the accommodation’s budget, including cost control and revenue optimization.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Forge and maintain relationships with vendors, local community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all Occupational Health and Safety, Hygiene, Environmental and Quality Standards are met by staff.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a administrative management role in a mining village or hospitality (hotels, motels, holiday parks)
  • Demonstrated strong customer service focus with consistent delivery of exceptional results
  • As you will be in constant contact with senior executives and external representatives, you will display polished presentation and communication abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills are an essential requirement of the role as is a strong decision-making capability.
  • Police Clearance or willing to obtain one and medically fit to pass pre-employment medical.
  • Knowledge of flight booking system (INX is ideal) and task tracking system (RMS experience is beneficial)
