Unique opportunity to launch an authentic accommodation and food & beverage precinct on Rottnest Island.

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to spearhead the launch of an authentic accommodation and food & beverage precinct on Rottnest Island. 

Currently, we are in search of a pre-opening Front Office Manager to assume a pivotal role in ensuring the successful inauguration and seamless operation of the hotel's front office and associated areas. The chosen candidate will shoulder primary responsibilities including overseeing guest services, supervising the front office team, and fostering collaborative efforts with various departments to deliver an exceptional and memorable guest experience.

The Lodge Wadjemup, under local ownership, is being meticulously curated by a team of seasoned Western Australian professionals, including esteemed architects, development managers, and designers, alongside esteemed practitioners in food and beverage, hospitality, culture, tourism, and brand management. Our vision is to establish a distinctive and enduring presence within Wadjemup, enriching its status as a cultural tourism hub.

This redevelopment initiative aims to transform the existing lodge site into a versatile accommodation destination catering to diverse visitor preferences. With 109 rooms ranging from cozy bunk accommodations to expansive family suites offering scenic views of Garden and the island, guests will have ample choice. Furthermore, the development plan includes a pool facility slated for stage two completion.

Accessible to all Rottnest Island visitors, The Lodge Wadjemup's centrepiece will be the Sunset Bar & Dining—a relaxed, Mediterranean-inspired venue offering a selection of locally sourced beers and wines. Additionally, The Pelican will serve artisanal coffee and soft-serve ice cream, operating seven days a week. Complementing these offerings, The Lodge will feature a multi-purpose functions and events room capable of hosting up to 200 guests.

As the appointed Front Office Manager, you will report directly to the recently appointed General Manager, who notably spearheaded the successful launch of The Calile Hotel in Brisbane. In this capacity, you will serve as the face of The Lodge Wadjemup, ensuring that each guest receives a warm welcome and impeccable service throughout their stay.

Your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Extending a warm welcome and facilitating smooth check-in and check-out procedures for guests.
  • Providing comprehensive information regarding hotel facilities, local attractions, and available services.
  • Managing reservations and inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Addressing guest requests promptly and ensuring timely resolution of any issues.
  • Collaborating closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Cultivating partnerships with local businesses to explore cross-promotional opportunities.
  • Implementing effective revenue management strategies.
  • Leading and nurturing a small team to deliver exceptional guest service while fostering a cohesive team culture.

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A genuine passion for delivering exemplary hospitality service.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Front Office Manager or in a similar capacity within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and reservation systems.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field (preferred).
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • A positive and amicable demeanour.
