Role
The College is seeking to employ a full time General Labour for Events, Logistics and General Duties.
General Event Labourer (Operations)
The General Event Labourer (Operations) works within the Property and Services team to ensure timely and accurate set ups for College events and activities, from both internal and external hire requests.
You will deliver items to various locations on campus to aid other teams to conduct their work.
The key requirements of this hands-on position are physical capability to lift heavy items, up to 25kgs, and work as part of a team or independently.
Duties, including but not limited to,
- Setting up and packing down of college events and functions.
- Collect, clean, and move furniture and equipment around the college campus.
- Storeman duties.
- Daily maintenance of function equipment.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
- Delivery of goods around the College.
- Prepare transport vehicles.
- Drive College vehicles and trailers.
- Supervise and assist labour hire if necessary.
- Collect garbage bins, general and industrial, up to 1100L.
- General labouring work.
- Clean equipment or buildings.
- Carrying out other duties within the range of skills, as directed.
Expected Knowledge, Attributes and Competencies
- Physical strength, fitness and agility is required for this position.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Knowledge of WHS requirements and regulations, and safe handling procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly developed time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Exercise judgement in performing duties and responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Mandatory Requirements
- Manual drivers licence.
- Obtaining and maintaining a Blue Card prior to commencement of employment. Employment at the College is subject to Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian legislation.
- Pass a pre-start ‘Fitness for Work Assessment’.
Desired requirements
- Valid forklift operator licence (or training will be provided to the right candidate).
Employment Conditions
- This position is a Full Time permanent role, 7am - 3:15pm, Monday - Friday.
- Full PPE will be provided.
- The successful candidate must have a valid Working with Children Blue Card before they start.
