General Manager - Hotel & Hospitality - Exciting Challenge

WHO WE ARE

Levantine Hill Estate is a rapidly growing, family-owned company, which operates a large single-site premium wine, tourism, and hospitality business in Australia.  The business is set across our three major vineyards along the Maroondah Highway in the Yarra Valley.  Levantine Hill Estate specialises in wine production and wholesale, functions, events, onsite restaurant, and cellar door, and soon to open 33 room hotel (currently under construction).

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As the General Manager – Hotel & Hospitality, you will hold senior leadership team responsibility for the overall operations and sales across the hotel and hospitality businesses sector. You will play a critical role in driving and mentoring the line managers in the hotel, restaurant, and functions business department, to achieve consistence business performance and growth across their core areas of responsibility. 

You will be instrumental in designing and implementing processes and standard operating procedures that promote our company culture and vision, while ensuring operational efficiency and sustainable financial returns. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer on all departmental operation and strategic challenges, offering recommendations based on your financial analysis and projections, cost identification, and revenue/expense analysis. 

Your key objective as the General Manager – Hotel & Hospitality will be to maximise the utilisation of the group’s hotel and hospitality assets, its brands and key infrastructure to facilitate short term growth and long-term sustainable talent, revenue, and profit.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the day-to day business activities of the Levantine Hill Restaurant, Events Centre, and Boutique Hotel for the achievement of short- and long-term business /policy objectives, increased profit, and market share.
• Develop, manage, and progress business plans, budgets and strategies for Levantine Hill Estate’s hospitality and hotel business activities.
• Prepare, manage and/or arrange for the preparation of budgets, reports, and timelines, and ensure they are presented to the owners in a timely manner.
• Oversee event logistics and operations – ensure every event is executed to exceptional standards. 
• Attend and play an active part in Senior Leadership Team and monthly board meetings. 
• Provide a strong, clear leadership to the hotel and hospitality team.
• Promote the company's wine on and off site, as required.

Skills and attributes:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role or managing a high-performing hospitality/operations team, with the ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Established and proven track record of growing sales, team management, and managing financials.
• Experience in P&L management and an acumen in business models, budgeting, and other financials.
• Experience with developing and improving systems and procedures that allow the business to scale up, whilst improving all stakeholder experiences.
