Job Description:

  • Role title: Genomics Administration Assistant

  • Role type: Maximum Term Full time (18 months)

  • Role grade: Administration Officer Level 4, (Year1/2)

  • Department and location: Clinical Genomics, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

  • Salary: $75,176.80 - $76,897.65 + super + salary packaging

About the role

  • Provide end-to-end administrative and reception support for the Clinical Genomics Department, ensuring smooth daily operations across clinics and services

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary clinic scheduling, patient appointments, and staff calendars, supporting efficient and timely patient care delivery

  • Maintain and manage clinical systems, databases, and patient records with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance

  • Handle sensitive genetic information with discretion, while delivering professional, compassionate communication with patients, families, and clinical teams

  • Support billing processes, invoice management, meeting coordination, and preparation of reports, documentation, and departmental business materials

About you

  • Proven experience providing high-level administrative and reception support in a clinical or healthcare environment, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations

  • Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary clinic schedules, patient appointments, and staff calendars with excellent attention to detail and time management

  • Highly skilled in managing clinical systems, databases, and patient records, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance always

  • Demonstrated professionalism in handling sensitive information, with clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

  • Proactive and organised, with experience supporting billing, invoicing, meetings, reporting, and a commitment to improving processes, quality assurance, and ongoing professional development

About the hospital

In this role you will be based at St Vincent’s hospital, Darlinghurst.

  • A busy inner-city hospital in a beautiful location

  • Closely partnered with universities & affiliated research institutes, many of which are located on-campus

  • Centres of excellence include heart & lung transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, cancer care, AIDS/HIV, respiratory medicine, mental health, homeless health, drug & alcohol services, and correctional health 

  • Moving from NSW Health? Your eligible accrued leave entitlements will be transferred over. (As restrictions apply to the amount and type of leave that can transfer, feel free to discuss this with our team during the recruitment process)
