Geotechnical Driller - Urgent Hiring

About us:

Underdale Drillers oz is a 5th generation drilling company that specialises in water well and geotechnical drilling.  We are currently heavily involved in the geotechnical and environmental side with major drill programs through the entire state of South Australia (and into bordering states occasionally).

We are a diverse company with a wide range of rigs from the larger water well rigs (T3W Atlas Copco and Schramm) to medium and smaller geotechnical rigs such as Hanjin DB-8D, Comacchio, Drill Techniques push-tube rig, and MK5 Investigator - we currently have 11 rigs.  We are looking for an experienced geotechnical operator who will fit into our busy team.               Our depot is based in Lonsdale, SA.

The Role:

• We are looking for an experienced operator to undertake geotechnical drilling.   The driller will be responsible for drilling and subsequent drilling activities on a wide range of drill programs with various different rigs in our fleet.                     
•  Preference to those who are keen to work away remotely, as well as    local.  Day and night shifts will be available.   
• Please note this is not a FIFO position  
• We work through all types of weather conditions, so interested drillers must be physically fit and not phased by longer hours.  
• We are interested in someone that has good communication and organisational skills as well as a positive attitude towards safety, environment, and teamwork.  

Skills, experience, and requirements

• Previous experience in the drilling industry, operating drill rigs is required Preference for those experienced in any of the following: hollow flight auger - diamond coring - air hammer - geotechnical testing such as SPT, U50, etc., and well installation
• Current Driver's licence - Truck licence
• Construction Industry / White Card
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening

Advantage but not required:

• Drilling licence (Class 1, 2 or 3) or completed Certificate course in drilling
• First aid certificate
