This full-time position offers the flexibility of working from home 2 days a week.
Our team of five professional accountants provides essential accounting support to Archdiocesan parishes, assisting Parish Priests and Finance Committees with account processing, managerial reporting, government compliance (BAS and FBT), training, auditing, and policy implementation.

Key Responsibilities: - Manage Financial Transactions: Handle all aspects of Accounts Payable and Receivable to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
- Oversee Banking Activities: Record debtor payments and general receipts accurately to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- BAS Reporting: Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Keep the general ledger accurate and current, supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
- Support Budget Preparation: Collaborate with the Senior Accountant in preparing comprehensive budgets for Parishes, gaining valuable insights into financial planning and analysis.
- Annual Account Reviews: Prepare Parish accounts for external reviews, contributing to the transparency and accountability of financial practices.
Job Requirements: - Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Commerce
- 1-2 years of experience in MYOB EXO
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in not-for-profit organizations is desirable
- Understanding of Catholic Church values and teachings beneficial, not required
