The Role

We are seeking to employ a Geology graduate to join the Leonora Open Pit Geology team. 

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, responsibilities of this role will include:

·      Monitoring ore excavation to maximise recovery and minimise dilution;

·     Providing accurate records of ore mining activities;

·     Conducting ore mark-ups and prepare zones for mining;

·     Co-coordinating grade control activities;

·     Grade control drilling supervision;

·     Grade control sampling; and,

·     Assisting the mine geologists and production team with general duties as required.

This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on 7 days off, Fly-In Fly-Out roster from Perth to Leonora. (Night shift will commence only after training and familiarisation with the site)

We are looking for a Graduate Geologist who is highly motivated and enjoys working alongside likeminded professionals in a growing team and a growing company.  Someone who is keen to get involved in a great project and share their knowledge whilst gaining exposure to multiple parts of the wider operation.

The ideal candidate for this position will meet the following criteria:

·       Driver’s license (C Class, manual car) – essential

·       A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering

·       Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

·       Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
