The Graphic Designer (Exhibitions) is a key role within the Visitor Experiences team at Grande Experiences. The role’s primary focus is the design, development and final presentation of all visual materials that not only help facilitate but heighten the overall visitor’s experience. The purpose is to ensure that all graphic elements, printed materials, and digital assets are designed to a global standard and are incorporated into the exhibition spaces flawlessly.
The Graphic Designer (Exhibitions) will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Spatial Designers, Content developers, Creative Directors, and project managers to bring creative visions to life through visual storytelling.
You will take ownership of the ideation, design, and execution of all visual materials in and around the Visitor Experience, including (but not limited to): Interpretive information panels, scenography, wayfinding Signage and interactive elements.
Key Responsibilities
Ideation:
- Generate design concepts and mood boards to communicate ideas and obtain feedback from stakeholders.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Project Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop compelling visual narratives that engage and captivate audiences.
- Work collaboratively with our design and project management teams, using communication tools to ensure clear and efficient workflows.
- Attend meetings to discuss project requirements, revisions, and timelines.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to junior designers as needed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and workflows within the organisation.
World-class Design Delivery:
- Create high-quality graphic assets including signage, digital displays, promotional materials, and interactive elements that are as beautiful as they are clear, accessible and informative.
- Develop exhibition style guides and brand guidelines for partners, so that designs are easily replicated, localised and produced in any region.
File Management:
- Organise project files in a clear and accessible manner for seamless collaboration with the design team.
- Maintain version control and archive project files as needed.
Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to identify and resolve any potential issues before production.
- Execute comprehensive quality control checks to guarantee colour accuracy, resolution, and overall printability.
- Work closely with production teams to oversee the implementation of design elements and ensure quality standards are met.
Adaptability:
- Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to different project requirements and timelines.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in an often fast-paced environment.
- Work with project teams to efficiently manage time and resources to meet project deadlines, requesting additional resource and support when required.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
- Proven experience (5 years+) in graphic design, with a portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and creative execution.
- Highly proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with 3D modelling/rendering software is an advantage (SketchUp)
- Strong understanding of typography, colour theory, layout, and composition principles.
- Experience in exhibition design, environmental graphics, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of immersive technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and projection mapping is advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and embrace new design challenges.
- Positive attitude, creativity, and enthusiasm for pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling in the realm of exhibitions and immersive experiences.
- Strong project management skills
- Experience in Monday.com for project and workflow management (desired but not essential)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
