About our school 
St Joseph's Gayndah is a small yet vibrant school community, nestled on the picturesque banks of the Burnett River. With just over 70 students, we pride ourselves on being a close-knit and welcoming community where everyone is known and valued. Despite our size, we are rich in resources and opportunities, offering our students from Prep to Year 6 a 1:1 iPad program that ensures they have access to the latest educational tools. Our students also benefit from three hours of specialist lessons each week, which not only enhances their learning experience but also provides our dedicated staff with valuable time to collaborate and support one another in fostering an environment of excellence.

Summary

  • Location: St Joseph's Primary School, Gayndah

  • Start date: Commencing as soon as practical

  • Work hours: 04.00 hours per week

  • Salary: Services Staff level 2 - $32.50/hour + super

  • Status: Part-time | Permanent

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for: 



  • Assisting in the maintenance of playing surfaces, including setting up of greens, top dressing, fertilising under supervision, seeding, turfing, coring, and sprigging 

  • Assisting in the preparation of ovals for sporting events and carnivals 

  • Safely operate and maintain small machinery and plant, as required, considering the risk to self and others 

  • Assisting in the equipment and plant maintenance repairs including carrying out tasks allotted under the grounds and gardens maintenance plan 

  • Assisting in the ordering and purchase of materials.  

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:   



  • Knowledge of maintaining playing surfaces, including fertilising, seeding, and turfing 

  • Ability to assist in preparing ovals for sporting events and carnivals 

  • Skilled in safely operating and maintaining small machinery, ensuring safety for all   

  • Experience in equipment and plant maintenance, following the grounds maintenance plan   

  • Ability to assist in ordering and purchasing materials for maintenance tasks 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications at Certificate III level, or completion of an apprenticeship 

  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment 

  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
