The Opportunity

Due to growth, we are seeking a Group Safety Leader to oversee safety across our multiple manufacturing, showroom, and corporate sites in South Australia and Queensland. 

As the Group Safety Leader, you will spearhead the Work Health & Safety (WHS) function, providing a framework to maintain the health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors. Your role will be crucial in reducing workplace risks and creating safer working conditions through the implementation of a comprehensive Safety Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a Group-wide WHS strategic operational plan.
• Establish and maintain the Safety Development Program and systems.
• Continuously review and enhance safety protocols to address emerging risks and hazards.
• Strengthen and maintain current safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive safety reports, including overviews of incident reports and regulatory filings, promptly.
• Ensure thorough investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses occur to identify root causes and actions developed to prevent reoccurrence.
• Maintain accurate incident records and analyse data to identify trends for improvement.
• Provide guidance and support in managing Return-to-Work (RTW) SA and WorkCover QLD claims.
• Execute regular and systematic workplace inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with established safety standards.
• Develop comprehensive corrective action plans based on audit findings and closely monitor their implementation to achieve safety improvements.
• Effectively manage day-to-day operations, offering guidance, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities to team members in the Safety team.
• Assist the Group P&C Leader with planning, developing and implementing Company-wide initiatives and strategies.
• Effective distribution of all safety messages throughout the Company.

What We Are Looking For:

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (as a minimum).
• Driver’s licence and own car.
• At least 5 years in a Senior Safety Officer role (as a minimum).
• Demonstrated ability to drive safety initiatives.
• Ability to promote a positive safety culture and influence others.
