Growth & Community Partnerships Manager, Pacific (ANZ)

Job Description - Growth & Community Partnerships Manager, Pacific (ANZ)

Purpose

Own growth for Ding across Pacific Island communities in Australia and New Zealand, and on the corridors to the Pacific. This is a hands-on, field-based role that turns community trust into customers and transactions. You build a network of community advocates, develop partnerships with employers, PALM scheme networks, community organisations and mobile operators, run culturally relevant local campaigns, and act as the internal voice of the Pacific market. A thinker, linker and doer: strategic enough to spot the opportunity, connected enough to open the door, and hands-on enough to close it.

Key accountabilities

  1. Community presence and advocate network. Build trusted relationships with leaders, church and cultural groups, workplaces and diaspora organisations. Represent Ding at events, expos, festivals and PALM activities. Recruit, equip, incentivise and manage a network of community advocates (Samoan, Tongan, Fijian, PNG and others), and track and optimise their performance.

  2. Customer growth. Convert engagement into new customers, first transactions, repeat use and referrals. Track which communities, events, partners and campaigns perform best, and test and refine acquisition approaches with the wider Ding team.

  3. Partnerships and operator relationships. Develop and manage partnerships with employers, the PALM/ RSE ecosystem, community organisations, mobile network operators and distributors, in ANZ and Pacific markets. Agree sponsorships, joint activations, and promotional calendars, and make sure each partnership delivers measurable mutual value.

  4. Local campaigns and co-marketing. Plan and run localised campaigns with central Marketing, adapting global creative for cultural relevance, and manage local spend with a clear focus on ROI.

  5. Market insight and internal voice. Monitor competitors, pricing, customer behaviour, and emerging opportunities. Feed practical insight to Product, Marketing and Commercial, and represent community perspectives in decisions.

Who you are and what you bring

Essentials

  • Established, current connections in one or more Pacific Island communities in Australia or New Zealand, with real cultural fluency and knowledge of Pacific markets.

  • Experience in growth, sales, business development, field marketing, partnerships or community engagement, with a track record against targets.

  • Strong relationship-building, communication and influencing skills, equally at ease at a community event and in a partner or MNO meeting.

  • Data-informed: reads performance, adjusts quickly, and leads with initiative.

  • Entrepreneurial, biased to action, and able to work independently in a remote, distributed team.

  • Willing to travel extensively and work some weekends; current right to work in the country of residence.

Highly regarded

  • Fluency in a Pacific language such as Tongan, Samoan or Bislama.

  • Experience in telecoms, prepaid mobile, remittance, fintech or payments.

  • Experience with the PALM scheme, brand ambassador programmes, field teams or community-led growth.

  • A demonstrated ability to build referral networks within a community.
