Job Description - Head Chef FIFO

The Position:

  • Responsible for effectively managing P&L and food costs
  • Responsible for effectively managing kitchen operations/logistics including stock control 
  • Understand and manage client expectations
  • Supervision of Chefs in relation to day-to-day operations
  • Ensure compliance with Healthy, Safety and Environment requirements

    • Minimum Criteria:
  • Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (essential)
  • Experience as a Head Chef (essential)
  • High volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience
  • Experience in a mining village operation preferred but all professional kitchen experience considered
  • Willing to obtain or have a Queensland Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Surface Mining Induction 
  • Previous experience working in a remote setting desired
  • Strong leadership skills, self-motivated and can demonstrate initiative on the job
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and management
