Job Description - Head of Athlete Recruitment (Sales)
The Head of Athlete Recruitment (Sales) has a deep understanding of athletic sports performance and is responsible for converting qualified interest into new customers. The ideal candidate must be able to connect at a deep and meaningful level with a broad range of different personality types, quickly build trust, demonstrate expertise, and most importantly, always be willing to progress the sale if it’s in the best interests of the athlete. The head of Athlete Recruitment (Sales) must also prioritise protecting the reputation of the company, and will never sell a potential customer any more, or any less, than they need to get the outcome the customer wants.Given the head of Athlete Recruitment is a leadership role, the ideal candidate will match the following character traits:A desire to ‘win’ who loves achieving goals and targets.A dog-with-a-bone attitude who doesn’t give upImpervious to rejectionAlways takes responsibility for failures and mistakes of themselves and of their team.Direct ReportAs part of the leadership team, your role reports directly to the CEO.Key Stakeholder RelationshipsBrand Marketing & Lead Generation: You will work closely with the marketing team to ensure that you have a steady and predictable flow of inbound leads. Because you’re responsible for converting leads to new athletes, it’s up to you to provide great feedback to the marketing team about the leads’ quality.Athlete Onboarding:You will work closely with the coaching and physio department to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for new customers as they enter our training ecosystem, ensuring that vital information uncovered from your conversations is relayed so everyone is on the same page.Customers:The most important stakeholder is the customer. Because this role is responsible for our ‘first impression’, the ideal candidate has to feel like they can always make a fantastic first-impression that corresponds with the athletes’ expectations of professionalism and expertise.Key Responsibilities:Setting and achieving quarterly, monthly and weekly sales targets in order to achieve growth targets through phone calls, messages and facility tours.Nurturing sales-qualified leads who aren’t yet ready to become customers.Outbound lead generation via social & community outreach.Key KPIs:New Athlete SalesOutbound lead generationRunway:We expect the ideal candidate to hit KPI within 8 weeks, following an intensive 4-week onboarding process.Skills & Experience:High levels of sales experience within the fitness industryDegree or equivalent within Allied Health or Strength & ConditioningDeep understanding of athletic performance training and sports rehabilitationCompensation:A competitive OTE package that could exceed $150,000p.a, made up of base, sales commissions and super.
