  • Review Accounts Payable & Receivable functions, certificate asset recording processes and month end reconciliations.
  • Negotiate sales of environmental certificates, including forward contracts, at optimum rates.
  • Collaborate with the certificate production team to analyse operational data for financial decision making and cash flow management.
  • Calculate costs to determine itemised profitability margins and develop initiatives to improve gross margins.
  • Support financial aspects of contract negotiations with major business partners.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.

Legal and Human Resources Functions:

  • Provide financial performance data analysis to support hiring and staff remuneration decisions.
  • Collaborate with other managers and HR consultants to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accurate recording of HR information.
  • Review calculation of sales commissions to ensure accuracy and incentivise sales performance.

Your Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Chartered Accountant or CPA
  •  At least 7 years’ experience in a finance leadership role.
  • Ideally, a combination of large and small high-growth company experience demonstrating your ability to be both strategic as well as hands on.
  • Experience with Xero, Omni or similar accounting and inventory systems; and in reconciliation of multiple stock recording platforms.
  • Experience with the fundamentals of hedge accounting and forward contracts.
  • Experience managing issues relating to Australian Financial Services Licence requirements.
  • Audit experience in tracing and tracking transactions through multiple systems.
  • Experience reporting to senior executives or BOD, explaining financial information to non-financial executives.
  • Experience managing internal and external accounting teams.
  • Experience in a commercial finance role, with an understanding Gross Margin and direct cost allocations including labour.
  • Experience in environmental certificate markets and/or professional consulting services would be well regarded.
  • Passion and interest in sustainability will be well regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and outcomes-oriented, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Exceptional levels of personal organisation, strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience with ability to communicate and collaborate across all levels with integrity.

Why EC?

  • Be part of a dynamic, growing sustainability consultancy firm
  • Your financial expertise will shape the financial health of an organisation committed to making a positive impact on the planet.
  • Contribute to our high-growth environment and advance your career in an industry with limitless potential.
  • Enjoy the benefits of a flexible, hybrid working environment and a committed, freindly team.
