The Opportunity

A unique opportunity has become available in Melbourne to lead the HR and payroll team, providing oversight in developing and delivering the Group’s people plan.You will join the Leadership Team providing effective and professional end to end lifecycle advice across the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of the strategic plan. Develop and implement an effective People plan that drives the achievement of the group’s strategic objectives.
• You will partner and work closely with business leads to deliver people strategies that align capability, performance, engagement and talent initiatives with business goals.
• Maintain up-to-date HR policies and practices that comply with regulatory and legislative requirements and are clearly understood.
• Partner with the Recruitment and HR partners to attract, evaluate and recruit candidates to roles. 
• Build talent pipelines and develop succession plans with business leaders.
• Oversee the payroll team, to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide day-to-day coaching and advice on employee relations, disputes and grievances.
• Coach business leaders on change management principles and that they are executed.
• Continuously engage and partner with senior management to understand needs and establish priorities.

To be successful in this role

You will have the ability to navigate through complex organisational matters, able to drive operational excellence and ensure the seamless operation of HR and Payroll. You will have significant experience in leading people and teams through periods of change and growth. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse and committed group of leaders and their teams, be hands-on, and encourages and supports effective behaviours and ways of working. 

You will have a commercial acumen to connect people’s capability with performance and business outcomes. Experience in industrial relations with exposure to working in an agile and dynamic environment, where you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves.
