Head of HSEQR - Rapid Progression

AT REMA we understand keeping our people safe is of critical importance and isn’t something we can leave to chance. We need a robust safety professional to drive the function across our many and varied sites, working with our Site Managers, our clients and our employees.
  
The National Head of HSE, Quality and Risk will focus on managing safety as a priority and providing day to day HSEQR support to our operations leaders, in turn educating and empowering them to improve safety standards and outcomes. You will provide advice and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, encompassing what it means to be REMA MATESAFE, where we work together to keep our mates safe in and out of the field. With regular travel to client sites, you will be responsible for mentoring and empowering REMA supervisors and employees to fulfil their HSEQR responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing HSEQR leadership to continue to improve HSEQR among the organisation and developing National strategies across our operations with the support of HSE professionals
• Build capabilities with the operational leaders to enable them to create the desired HSEQR culture and implement strategies to support successful operational outcomes.
• Development of robust systems and processes to manage HSEQ risks across the business and ensure legislative compliance.
• Development and maintenance of the site HSEQR risk and governance verification processes (inclusive of risk registers, statutory compliance and verification checks, HSEQR process checks, legal compliance etc).

  About you:

• Formal qualifications in Health & Safety, ideally to a post graduate level
• A mentality of continuous improvement of yourself and the HSEQR systems of the organisation
• Ability to work as part of and lead a team to support the needs of the business.
• Communication - Ability to engage with the workforce clearly and concisely at all levels to deliver the desired HSEQR messaging, including sometimes having the tough conversations
• Knowledge of the relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and any other applicable standards of the industry
• Willingness to travel regularly in line with operational requirements, with the majority of travel in WA, but also to our operations across the country.
