Head of Marketing and Communications

  • Opportunity to join one of Australia’s largest support-service providers during a period of transformational change and growth!
  • A senior leadership role responsible for elevating the marketing and communications function.
  • This role can be based in SYD or MELB and hybrid work opportunities are available.

Role Responsibilities:

This role is joining the organisation during a time of transformational change and as the Head of Marketing and Communications you will be pivotal in spearheading the function to help drive their mission forward. This role will build and lead a skilled team and oversee the development and execution of annual marketing and communication strategies. Your focus will be on supporting the growth of the organisation, particularly in attracting new clients and ensuring effective representation of the brand in the community.

This roll offers the optimal opportunity for a skilled professional to use their autonomy to make it their own by also building a team. You will have proven success in leveraging marketing and communications tactics to support growth and brand awareness, you will not be afraid to take risks but equally able to learn from the failures. This role needs a candidate who displays confidence, resilient and showcases strong stakeholder skills as they engage closely with the Executive, senior leaders, and other teams across Australia. 

Reporting to the Director of Strategy, Engagement and Growth you will be responsible for:
 
Marketing Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to achieve revenue objectives.
  • Manage the annual marketing budget and provide detailed reporting to the Executive Team.

Marketing Activity:

  • Lead the team in executing marketing growth strategies across multiple channels (social media, advertising, direct mail, email, web, press etc)
  • Coordinate opportunity-led events to strategically engage clients with excellence.
  • Oversee social media advertising to drive awareness, consideration, leads, and conversions.
  • Develop strategic supporter journeys to enhance value proposition, engagement and retention.
  • Manage agency relationships and partnerships.

Leadership:

  • Key member of the strategy and growth leadership team - significantly inputting into organisation-wide revenue strategy and campaign integration.
  • Lead and coach the Marketing and Communication teams, fostering optimal performance.
  • Oversee approvals for all marketing activities.

Cross-Functional Integration:

  • Manage internal stakeholder relationships for content sourcing.
  • Contribute to the development and refresh of the organisation's brand.
  • Assist the Team through strategic input across activities, events, sponsorship opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team on marketing budget and expenditure.

Advice, Support & Training:

  • Provide timely advice, mentoring, and consultancy on marketing plans and activities.
  • Prepare and present high-level reports and briefings.
  • Engage with executive and organisational leaders to support best practices.
  • Provide advice on key external partner engagement.

  • Ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or extensive relevant experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Senior Marketing or Communications role with strategy development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic acquisition planning (B2B and B2C).
  • Previous experience in a growth-oriented company or non-profit with ambitious revenue targets.
  • Experience in the for-purpose or allied health sector is desirable.
  • Availability for inter and intra-state travel.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and national Police Check.
  • Minimum of 3 Covid vaccinations.
  • Unrestricted driver's license.
