Head of Reinsurance Solutions

We are a major player in the Life & Health reinsurance market in Australia and New Zealand and we have the benefit of being small and nimble but with the financial backing of one of the largest reinsurers in the world. We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Life & Health subsidiary in Sydney which plays a major part in the success of Hannover Re globally.

We are seeking a Head of Reinsurance Solutions to join our Reinsurance Business team. The role will be a permanent position reporting directly to our General Manager, Reinsurance.

As the Head of Reinsurance Solutions, you will be responsible for business development and other aspects of client management for Hannover's retail and group reinsurance business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain senior client relationships and manage commercial negotiations
• Drive portfolio growth through innovative reinsurance solutions and new profit streams
• Develop and present new business proposals and market insights
• Execute an effective client engagement and retention strategy
• Support clients with product development and solution-focused advice
• Collaborate across underwriting, claims, actuarial, operations and risk teams
• Ensure accurate treaty documentation and effective onboarding of new or amended business
• Promote the organisation's brand while operating within risk and compliance frameworks

You come equipped with

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in financial services
• Actuarial qualification (or working towards qualification) preferred but not essential
• Strong analytical capability
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop practical, win-win solutions
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to contribute to portfolio growth initiatives
• Proven ability to build and manage strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including engagement at senior management level
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and meet deadlines
• Sound technical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and quality outcomes
