Job Description - Health and Safety Manager - SA

About the role

We are looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join our high-performing team. Initially supporting one of our marine projects in Osborne SA, the role will transition into future works scheduled for South Australia.
  
Duties include but not limited to:  
  • Provide advice and assistance to the Project Manager for the development, implementation review and revision of HSE sections of the Project Execution Plan.
  • Maintain the project library of safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Report on health and safety matters to the Project Manager including preparation of incident and loss statistics and monthly summary reports.
  • Promote and encourage the culture of working safety and setting a positive example for all other personnel.
  • Participate in project risk assessments and preparation of risk control documents.
  • Ensure regular site safety inspections of site activities are carried out.
  • Ensure all local statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Environment are incorporated into the Project Execution Plan.
  • Ensure that all personnel are inducted and trained in their roles and responsibilities and are competent to perform the duties allocated to them.
  • Plan and carry out HSE audits of subcontractors.  
About you:  
  • Minimum of 10 years operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management principles and the practical application thereof.
  • Demonstrate ability to compile detailed technical written reports.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and be resourceful/self-reliant in investigating and enquiring into issues.
  • Competent user of in-house software, with working knowledge of wider applications.
