Health & Safety Advisor Your new company
Your new company is a well-known brand, leading provider of integrated services across ANZ, looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team for a period of leave from August until October based in Port Kembla. There may be long-term or permanent opportunities for the right candidate in 2025.
Your new role
In your new role you will be responsible for:
- Promote the reporting of incidents, near misses, hazards, non-conformances, system improvements and customer complaints and ensure corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Undertake corrective actions arising from Zero Harm processes, including implementing incident investigations within agreed timeframes.
- Consult Safety Representatives on workplace changes that may affect health, safety and environment.
Lead the implementation of Zero Harm systems, processes and training across Industrial and Energy, supported by operational project teams and SMEs.
Work with site teams to identify and communicate innovation to the wider business. This includes driving and monitoring the reward and recognition programs.
- Work collaboratively to define competency requirements to improve Zero Harm. Monitor Zero Harm performance/ competencies and continuously improve.
- Provide material & assistance for induction, awareness and/or training programs at all levels of the organisation to indoctrinate and publicise Zero Harm systems principles and practice.
- Coordinate and deliver training on the Zero Harm framework and methods as well as to improve and embed a Zero Harm mindset / focus across the business. This includes integration into existing programs to streamline delivery.
Verify compliance to Australian Standards and ISO and OFSC requirements.
Monitor investigations and action implementation to ensure they are best practice to prevent re-occurrence.
Monitor and provide oversight of injury management.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will ideally hold/have:
- White card
- Cert IV in WHS at a minimum
- ICAM or testing for drug and alcohol qualifications are desirable
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry What you'll get in return
