Job Description - Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are on the lookout for talented individuals with experience in diesel engines who are ready to bring their expertise to one of Bunburys top truck dealerships.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and repair vehicles with diesel engines
  • Handle routine repairs, including oil and tire changes
  • Accurately interpret diagnostic test results
  • Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans
  • Train and mentor trainees and apprentices
  • Collaborate with other diesel mechanics
  • Submit reports and plans for approval to customers
  • Advise customers on repair options and costs
  • Conduct test drives to ensure proper functionality
  • Safely use electricity, machinery, and hand tools
  • Adhere to all workshop rules, standards, and health & safety regulations

What Were Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Truck Mechanic
  • Appropriate trade certification
  • Experience with Japanese trucks (highly regarded)
  • A background in diesel mechanics
  • HR Licence (advantageous but not essential)
  • Quick thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong time management, organisational, and collaboration skills
  • A high degree of integrity and attention to detail
  • A commitment to health and safety
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport
  • Experience mentoring and coaching apprentices
