HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC – EARTHMOVING & QUARRY EQUIPMENT – RELOCATE TO QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
A leading Australian quarry machinery and heavy transportation business is seeking experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join its growing operation in Queensland.
Supporting customers across the quarrying, earthworks, mining and construction sectors, the business operates and maintains a substantial fleet of heavy earthmoving and support equipment throughout the region. With a strong reputation for safety, reliability and long-term customer relationships, they continue to invest in both their people and equipment as the business expands.
Following the successful relocation of UK engineers into the organisation, they are now looking to recruit additional UK-based Heavy Diesel Mechanics who are interested in building a long-term career and lifestyle in Australia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on a fleet of heavy earthmoving and quarry equipment.
* Diagnose and rectify hydraulic, mechanical and electrical faults across a range of mobile plant machinery.
* Attend breakdowns and perform fault-finding activities both in the workshop and on-site when required.
* Complete inspections, maintenance records and service documentation to company standards.
* Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
* Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety procedures and Australian industry standards.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high levels of housekeeping and workshop organisation.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
* 3+ years' experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, Plant Fitter or Field Service Engineer.
* Strong experience working on earthmoving, quarry, construction or mining equipment.
* Proven hydraulic, mechanical and electrical fault-finding capability.
* Experience on CAT, Volvo, Komatsu, Hitachi, Liebherr, Hyundai, Doosan or similar OEM equipment highly advantageous.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
* Trade qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent) preferred.
* Must be UK-based and willing to permanently relocate to Queensland, Australia.
