Position: Heritage Advisor


 


Roster: Monday - Friday


 


Location: Subiaco, Western Australia


 


Here’s what awaits you:


 


The Heritage Advisor assists with cultural heritage management across Northern Star's Australian operations. In this role, you will assist to facilitate cultural heritage surveys, review reports and data, and communicate within the business to ensure compliance with agreement conditions, statutory requirements, and industry best-practice. You'll help maintain Northern Star's heritage database and liaise with the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage to support compliance and approval processes.


 


A key focus is maintaining trust-based relationships with Traditional Owners to create shared outcomes. You will support site representatives in their day-to-day engagement on heritage matters and provide technical advice to operational areas to assist in administering and developing cultural heritage management plans, policies, and procedures, and to support the implementation of native title and heritage agreement commitments.


 


To thrive in this role, you’ll need:


 


Experience:



  • A background in community development, cultural heritage, or stakeholder engagement, preferably within the resources sector

  • Proven ability to maintain positive relationships in complex and challenging environments, especially with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

  • Knowledge and experience with GIS systems, including creating, manipulating, and querying spatial data (ArcGIS or QGIS)

  • Strong problem-solving skills to deliver solutions across the business

  • Discretion and respect working in culturally diverse settings

  • Ability to multitask, organise, and prioritise multiple projects under tight deadlines


 


Qualifications:



  • Current West Australian ‘C' Class Drivers Licence.

  • Formal qualification in archaeology, anthropology, environmental science, social science, or other relevant field preferred
